Pot Of Gold Recap: Notre Dame Targeting Several Talented Quarterbacks In 2025

A look at the 2025 quarterbacks offered by Notre Dame during Pot of Gold

With the 2023 recruiting class signed and Saline (Mich.) High School star signal caller CJ Carr already committed in the 2024 recruiting class, the Notre Dame staff can already concentrate on evaluating all the potential quarterback targets on the board for 2025. On Friday, during the Pot of Gold offer extravaganza, a stream of offers were extended to seven talented passers.

There was already a couple of talented quarterbacks on the board but in total, there were five signal callers offered during the event. At first glance, it looks like an impressive 2025 group of signal callers nationally and the Irish staff is already on a few extremely talented options.

Let’s take a look at some of the top players on the board early on who were extended offers during the Pot of Gold.

A FEW NAMES TO KNOW

The conversation is always going to start with Belleville (Mich.) High School star Bryce Underwood, who has a legitimate argument as the top overall player in the 2025 class early on. The 6-3, 205-pound passer is an advanced football player from a mental processing perspective. He also has an outstanding combination of size, arm strength and athletic ability.

Every major program in college football will be courting Underwood over the next two years. The cool part, however, is the 2025 class is absolutely loaded with a ton of outstanding quarterback targets.

Notre Dame's board includes talented dual threat players and more dropback oriented throwers.

Lucedale (Miss.) George County standout Deuce Knight brings an outrageous combination of size, arm strength and running ability. The lefty has some jaw dropping moments on film, with an absurd amount of upside to work with. He is a welcomed addition to the board.

Although the most diminutive passer on the board, Saraland (Al.) High School signal caller KJ Lacey is arguably the best player right now on the board outside of Underwood. Despite being right around 6-0, Lacey has a live arm with impressive arm speed. There is some magic to him on the field as an extender in the passing game.

The board is rounded out with a duo of traditional pocket passers. One is Lexington (Ky.) Christian Academy standout Cutter Boley, who has been in touch with the staff for some time. The other is Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy star George MacIntyre, who is the son of current Florida International head coach Mike MacIntyre

Both players are solid athletes but really do their best work playing within the structure of an offense. Both Boley and MacIntyre bring an appealing combination of size and arm strength to the table. MacIntyre has the tools to eventually challenge for the top quarterback
