Dora High School student Natasha Slavik was named one of the top 20 artists in the Missouri Congressional Art Competition for her striking black and white works. She was also the best in show winner in the Dora School art show with her piece titled “Eye of the Tiger,” and first place for her drawing of a zebra (below, center). Because she was a winner in the statewide art show, Slavik was invited by Congressman Jason Smith to attend an exclusive art reception at the Missouri State Capitol May 2. Her piece was honored as one of the top three pieces at the state show.

UPDATE 5/6/2024: The Cabool Police Department (CPD) has identified a woman who was found trapped under a train car on May 5. According to a Facebook post from CPD, the woman is 38-year-old Natalie Wilson from Piggott, Arkansas. She is in a Springfield, Missouri hospital in critical condition. Dozens of emergency responders conduct 5-day search for drowning victim at Warren Bridge
Photo submitted Ozark County and statewide emergency responders spent five days searching the flooded waters of Bryant Creek at Warren Bridge last week looking for Pottersville resident Brian Richardson, who had driven off the bridge during flooded conditions sometime around midnight April 29. The responders recovered his truck and pulled it from the water the Tuesday around noon, as shown in this photo. Richardson’s body was found in Bryant Creek Saturday.
