A long standing member of the administrative team for the Panorama School District has resigned.

As previously reported, Superintendent Shawn Holloway has resigned from his position with Panorama, as he prepares to step into the superintendent position with the Norwalk School District. Holloway says that this decision was a hard one to make, but that it made sense to him and his wife that this was the next step for them. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what he’ll miss about Panorama.

“I think people and relationships are the biggest factors. I enjoyed coming to work because of the people I work with, right. That starts in the central office staff with Symantha (Crawford) and Vanessa (Phillips). Strong trust, collaboration, just, those relationships build you. It’s a good working relationship, a good personal relationship.”

Holloway explains that nothing has happened at Panorama to make him want to move on, but that with his children out of the house now, he and his wife decided that it would be nice to live closer to the Des Moines area. He also made a statement for the Panorama community.

“I just appreciate, again, the community (and) leader support, the friendships we’ve made. And that’s what’s made it special for the last eight years.”

Holloway will finish his tenure as Panorama Superintendent on June 30th, with July 1st to be his first day as Norwalk’s Superintendent. The Panorama School Board is currently searching for a new superintendent.
