The body of a Northfield man who apparently drowned was found at lakes northwest of Faribault early Tuesday.

At just past 9 a.m., Rice County deputies responded to the Kelly/Dudley lakes public access following a report of a suspicious motorcycle. Deputies learned the motorcycle may have belonged to an elderly male who often snorkels in the lake. When deputies arrived on scene, they observed what appeared to be a body approximately 100 yards east of the dock.

Rice County deputies and members of the Rice County Dive Team confirmed an adult male was face down in the water and unresponsive. It appeared that the man had been there for a period of time and that he was deceased.

At this time, the death is not considered suspicious. The victim’s name is not now being released and the case is pending further investigation.
