Motorcyclist dies, wife in ICU, after deadly crash on Route 15

Williamsport, Pa. — A motorcyclist who was involved in a deadly accident on Route 15 was identified by officials today.

The crash occurred on Route 15 at Pinchtown Rd. in Clinton Township on Aug. 5 at approximately 9:15 p.m. A couple on a motorcycle was traveling north on route 15 when a truck pulled from Pinchtown Rd. onto route 15 in front of them, causing the crash, according to officials.

The couple on the motorcycle was identified as James Engel, 57, of Williamsport and his wife, according to a release from the Lycoming County Coroner's office. They were both transported to UPMC Susquehanna after the crash.

James Engel died of multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m. on Aug. 6, according to the coroner's release. His wife remains in the ICU in critical condition.
