Muncy, Pa. — Pickleball players of Lycoming county will soon have a new place to practice their pickleball skills: Keiss Memorial Park.

The Muncy Creek Township Board of Supervisors announced that they have received a grant through the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) in the amount of $40,287 from the Waldron Memorial Fund for use as part of their Keiss Memorial Park Pickleball Court Project.

Keiss Memorial Park is located at 575 PA-442, just outside of Muncy and directly across from the Muncy Creek Township Municipal Building. According to Tripadvisor, the park is “good for kids, couples, big groups, being budget friendly, and a hidden gem.” Tripadvisor.com ranks the park in the top ten things to do in Muncy.

Currently, the park offers many family-friendly amenities, including a wheelchair accessible glider, play structures, paved walking path, baseball fields, free parking, pavilions, shade structures, room to run, and more.

Over the years Keiss Park has seen baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and more, based on community involvement in particular activities throughout history.

Now, to keep up with outdoor recreation trends the supervisors are looking to add a pickleball court for the local Muncy community residents to enjoy.

The project is expectated to be completed by 2025. To recognize the support of the First Community Foundation Partnership and the community members that wrote in support of the project, a plaque will be hung near the entrance of the pickleball courts.
