A 19-year old is getting treatment after he was hurt in Starved Rock State Park Friday afternoon. Utica Fire Chief Ben Brown said the Plainfield youth lost his balance in La Salle Canyon and hit his head on some rocks wet from the waterfalls.
His injuries are not considered serious. He was carried to the river by Utica Fire/EMSÂ and then boated across to a waiting ambulance. The youth was taken to OSF St. Elizabeths. His name was not released.
