Drunken driving: Royalton Road

On May 12, police observed a speeding white Hyundai Elantra on Royalton Road. While talking to the Broadview Heights driver, the officer smelled booze.

Told she was traveling 39 mph in a 25 mph zone, the woman said, “My thing was saying 30 (mph).”

That’s when the officer observed a plastic cup in the center console, which the driver said contained water.

After failing a field sobriety test, during which she lost her balance, the woman was arrested for drunken driving. She was also cited for speeding.
