North Little Rock family still searching for answers after loved one was killed nearly a year ago

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A North Little Rock family is continuing to call for justice after their loved one was shot and killed in a robbery in his own front yard nearly a year ago.

According to the North Little Rock Police Department, 57-year-old Jimmy Dale Turner was killed in a shooting that happened in the 500 block of West 17th Street just before 11:30 p.m. on April 17, 2023.

His daughter Natasha Turner said they were best friends.

“He didn’t deserve this at all. He was a great man,” she said.

Natasha Turner said the person responsible has yet to be arrested.

“Over a couple of dollars, you ruined our lives,” she said. “You turned everything upside down,”

Turner said she is still grieving the loss and pain someone put her family through.

“The hole that you left in our lives is honestly catastrophic,” Turner said.

She said that she wants more to be done by the police.

“Answers have been nonexistent,” she said. “I have gotten no updates, no phone calls.”

Turner said her dad was very active in the community and is hoping someone comes forward with the answers they so desperately want.

“It’s going to take a community for all of us to come together and end the violence that is happening because this is our homes, our communities we have to take care of ourselves,” she said.

NLRPD officials said there are no new updates in the investigation.
