News 3 spotted FBI agents conducting an investigation at a catalytic recycling center in North Las Vegas Thursday morning.
Many questions remain after agents put up crime tape at the PGM of Texas Las Vegas off Mitchell Avenue near Craig Road.
What appeared to be catalytic converters were also spotted on the ground.
In an effort to combat catalytic converter thefts, North Las Vegas passed an ordinance banning the possession or the sale of converters without a permit.
In an email, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Las Vegas field office said the agents were "conducting court authorized law enforcement activity."
The spokeswoman declined to comment further, citing an ongoing situation.
The U.S. Attorney's office for Nevada also referred questions to the FBI.
