Where is Jocelyn Alo now? What to know about record-setting Oklahoma softball star's career after college

By Sara Tidwell,

Oklahoma softball is back in the spotlight again, as the Sooners take on Florida State in the Women's College World Series final seeking their third consecutive national championship.

That Oklahoma is back in this position after dominating the opposition all season is even more impressive considering the Sooners have done it without the woman at the center of their most recent title teams, Jocelyn Alo.

The Hawaii-born slugger was a star throughout her time in Norman, setting numerous school and NCAA records and being named Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year in 2022 while winning two national championship rings and earning All-America honors four times.

And that's just the first of the medals hanging around her belt. The list is enormous, but well-deserved. Alo proved her skill every step of the way.

She also graduated from OU last spring. Here's what she's up to now:

Where is Jocelyn Alo now?

Alo plays as a utility for the Oklahoma City Spark, a team in the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF) league. The four-team league's 2023 season begins June 15 and runs through the playoffs in mid-August.

She was drafted first overall by the Alabama-based Smash It Vipers last year in the inaugural WPF Draft, but was traded in November in exchange for draft picks and cash considerations. Her contract with the Spark is for three years.

Alo hung out with the Savannah Bananas on May 27 when they were stopped in Oklahoma City. The state's fan favorite and home run queen only spent one night with the team, receiving a loud response from the crowd during her appearance at-bat.

It currently retails for $449.95 on the Rawlings website and there are only 2,500 being made, each of which will be individually numbered.
