Norman Artist Creates Paintings For Each Day Of The Year

A Norman artist is curating a piece every day for the next 285 days, continuing from the previous 80 days he's already done, and it's all adding up to 365.

"I paint mostly here," artist Tim Kenney said. "I've always wanted to do a painting a day for a year, just to see if I could do it." 

For this artist of 14 years, doing something each day of the year was his goal.

"You just must do what you must do. I am making a living as an artist. I have six grandsons, I'm involved in the community, and I love working with charities," Kenney said.  

It's 365 sunsets or sunrises for the next 365 days, but he likes this type of work. 

In 2014, it was 50 paintings in 50 states in 50 days 2017, 77 paintings in 77 Oklahoma Counties in 77 days.

"When you first start, of course, you are thinking this is a mess, but then people start buying your work, and you're stunned," Kenney said. 

Kenney said now that he has started this new collection, the photos of suns just roll in.
