Trio indicted by McLean County grand jury in connection for Bloomington armed robbery
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Three McLean County residents face up to 30 years in prison in connection with a November 2023 armed robbery that left a man seriously injured. Andrew McConnaughay, 28, of Hudson; Scott P. James, 30, and Brittany A. Wells, 29, both of Bloomington were indicted by a McLean County grand jury on several charges with the most serious being armed robbery in connection with the Nov. 18, 2023, incident at the Oakbrook Apartments on Bloomington’s East Side.
Bloomington Chief Addresses Community Frustration in Wake of Gas Station Shooting, Underscores Commitment to Public Safety
In a recent YouTube video published on May 18th, the Bloomington Police Department's Chief shared a spotlight on a local gas station shooting that left the community reeling and police dismayed at the subsequent arrest process. The Chief, whose name was not released, expressed frustration over the aftermath of the incident, assuring the community that the department remains committed to its protective duties, despite setbacks. "We will continue to do our duty to protect and serve this community despite what happens downstream," said the Chief, according to a Facebook post by the Bloomington PD. The video has been added to the department’s new YouTube channel, which they encouraged the public to subscribe to.
