JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Norfolk State student-athletes
Kai Cole and
Isaac Haywood competed in the NCAA East First Round meet this week at the University of North Florida.
Cole participated in two events, both on Wednesday evening: the 100 meters and 200 meters. Cole opened his week in the former, posting a time of 10.31 to finish 32nd out of 48 competitors.
Just a couple of hours later, Cole set a personal record in the 200 meters with a time of 20.75 seconds. The mark earned him 26th, coming just a few hundredths of a second from qualifying for the final heat.
Haywood took 42nd in the triple jump on Friday, recording a distance of 47 feet, 11.75 inches.
