SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - SRQ VETS posted on social media asking for help after the SRQ VETS trailer was stolen. According to the post, it was stolen from the DAV on Bee Ridge Rd. It was last seen around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Contact SRQ VETS with any information.
Weekend beach service hosted in honor of veterans in Nokomis
NOKOMIS, Fla. (WWSB) - First Baptist Church of Venice is hosting a weekend beach service in honor of Memorial Day. The event aims to honor those who sacrificed their life to protect our country. All are welcomed from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at North Jetty Park.
Salvation Army launches Food Pantry and Feeding Program at Tuttle Avenue location
The Salvation Army Sarasota County is expanding their efforts to fight hunger, launching a new Food Pantry and Feeding Program at the Sarasota Corps at 1701 Tuttle Ave. The food pantry opened during the week of May 13, coinciding with National Salvation Army Week, and will provide groceries on Mondays and Thursdays from noon-2 p.m. A free Community Hot Meal program is available every Tuesday from noon-2 p.m.
