Man wanted in Noel for felony warrant; vehicle theft

NOEL, Mo. (KOAM) -- Authorities are searching for a man suspected in a vehicle theft.

According to the Noel Marshal's Office , deputies responded to the 500 block of Johnson Drive regarding a trespassing.

A deputy made contact with Gavin Lawson upon arrival. While the deputy was checking Lawson for warrants, he ran out of the house. The deputy discovered that Lawson had a felony warrant for a vehicle theft.

A Southwest City officer saw Lawson run into the woods behind the Bel-Aire apartments. A K9 was deployed, but while tracking the K9 lost the scent.

According to the Marshal's Office, Lawson is wanted on the warrant for vehicle theft. Paperwork will be submitted to the McDonald County Prosecutor's Office for additional charges.

Lawson was last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans. He is 5FT, 5IN and 160 pounds. Lawson is missing his right arm.

The Noel Marshal's Office is asking anyone that has any information to call 911 and to not approach him.
