Cattle producers gathered at Niobrara, Nebraska this week to discuss issues relating to the cattle industry. The meeting was hosted by the cattle organization R-Calf USA. Both the president, Brett Kenzy, a cattle producer from Gregory, South Dakota, and the organization’s vice president Eric Nelson of Moville, Iowa were on hand to answer questions, and to present the positions of the R-Calf USA organization. Kenzy says R-Calf is interested in having four things to happen in the upcoming farm bill.
Nelson explains the reasons why the cattle organization favors country of origin labeling.
Both Kenzy and Nelson claiim by having country of origin labeling on beef products, it will allow U-S cattle producers to be more competitive.
