Plus, more than 100 students test their number knowledge in a local math competition, and the Kenai Potters Guild will host a Mother’s Day sale this weekend.

After a string of six wins, Soldotna's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Palmer Moose by a score of 15-13. Soldotna was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Palmer apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Thursday.

Kenai Central is 8-1-1 against Palmer since May of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kenai Central Kardinals will look to defend their home pitch against the Palmer Moose at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alaska (Kenai Central is ranked ninth, while Palmer is ranked tenth).
Softball Game Preview: Soldotna on Home-Turf
The Soldotna Stars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Redington Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Soldotna knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Redington likes a good challenge.
