SHEBOYGAN — Longfellow school started out as the Fourth Ward School. A modest building, it was built for $23,000 around 1890 and featured a handsome Romanesque style. That original building was two stories of brick and a high basement of stone. It featured eight large rooms with large central halls, according to information from the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center.

Since departing from Skynyrd in 1991, Pyle’s career led him down a path of solo records and projects, leading to “one of the finest tributes to southern rock royalty,” according to a news release from the Capitol Civic Centre, which hosts his show at 7 p.m. May 2.
Hundreds attend input session on future of marina, lakefront
Hundreds of people attended a public meeting and workshop at the Mead Public Library on Thursday, April 30 to learn about the Sheboygan Waterfront and Marina Master Plan. There was a mix of opinions on the plan with many people upset about the removal of the pool, hot tub, bar and store from the Marina. Pat Viegelbauer said that they belong to the Marina and have been coming to Sheboygan since 1999. “We are very disappointed with what the city wants to do.”
