VDOT reopens Cobb Road
According to a press release from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), as of June 5, all lanes on Route 642 (Cobb Road) in Southampton County have reopened following the completion of culvert restoration work by VDOT. City of Emporia passes FY25 budget
The city of Emporia has adopted its budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 which is set to take effect July 1, 2024. The general fund totals $34,973,202 and the utility fund budget totals $18,324,759 for an operating budget of nearly $53,300,000. The budget for fiscal year 2023-2024 amounted to a significantly smaller $35,000,000.
