( NewsNation ) — Two former U.S. Capitol police officers and one current Washington, D.C. officer will hit the road this week on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The bottom line is, I’m out there to stop Donald Trump. I think he’s the biggest threat to our democracy,” former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn told Axios.

Dunn and Metropolitan Police Department Officer Daniel “Danny” Hodges will make appearances in three Michigan cities late this week. The campaign is also arranging trips to North Carolina and Georgia.

Former Capitol Police Sergeant Aquilino Gonell will also appear at future Harris-Walz events, according to the campaign.

Trump stokes fears with ‘unconstitutional’ Harris talk

Dunn pointed to former President Donald Trump’s vow to pardon those convicted for their actions on January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol. He also points to Trump’s vow to be a “dictator on day one” if he’s elected to a second term.

Dunn says he knows Harris from her time in the Senate.

“She would always talk to us, her being a former prosecutor. She liked law enforcement, so she would always talk to the Capitol Police officers,” Dunn told NBC.

While not responding directly to the officers’ upcoming campaign work, the Trump campaign told USA TODAY that Biden and Harris’ administration is a threat to democracy.
