Use the links below to jump between each major section:
Outlaws Walkthrough
Following the failed heist from the Beginnings mission, you’ll move straight into Outlaws. Our first goal is simple: meet up with the crew for Bram’s job and don’t get caught along the way. As the mission begins, we’ll exit the Broken Hoof and find ourselves hiding from the Sixth Kin on the streets of Canto. From now until when we meet Bram's crew, we can't be seen or the Sixth Kin will prevent us from completing our mission, so we'll need to stay completely in the shadows. When you gain control, stay crouched and follow Nix into the alley to your left. Proceed through the alley and down the path ahead until you reach a dead end. Here, you'll see some dumpsters placed against the wall opposite you. Climb onto the dumpsters and use them to ascend to the ledges above you, climbing up and around them, then dropping onto a nearby roof. Look ahead and you’ll see a path of rooftops providing an elevated route across the street below you. Hop across them, being wary not to fall down and alert the nearby Sixth Kin guards. At the end of the path, you’ll see a grapple hook spot above you. Latch onto the grapple hook spot and swing to the rooftop opposite you. Drop down from this rooftop and then squeeze through the narrow path of pipes to your right. Proceed down the path ahead, hopping over the debris you reach and pushing forward until you trigger a cutscene. In it, Kay meets with the crew, as they take her to the drop-off point for the mission. It’s time to infiltrate Sliro’s mansion and find a way off Canto.
Infiltrating Sliro’s Mansion
After the cutscene is finished, make your way down the bank ahead of you. As you go, you’ll get a call from Dennion, who will brief you. Hear what she has to say, then push through the gap in the cliffs at the bottom of the bank. On the other side, you’ll emerge in front of a sprawling view of Canto. After Kay has taken it in, make your way around the cliffs to your left, leaping across the jutting rocks and swinging to the cliff face on the opposite side using the grapple beam above you. When you land, climb the rocks above you and then jump to the cliff wall ahead. Kay will automatically latch onto the holds running up it, so push up to climb the rock face until she reaches the cliff above. When you’re up, continue following the path until you reach a grapple point. Swing across and you’ll get your first proper look at Sliro’s mansion. Kay will call Dennion again, who will fill you in on Sliro’s background. When she’s done, continue following the path, swinging across another grapple point and land on the cliff face ahead, then move across to another cliffside path. Continue moving until you reach a third grapple point, then swing across to a cliff face, scale it and climb the rocks above you. Eventually, you’ll reach the side of the mansion. You’ll spot a metal grate that moves up the side of the mansion wall. Hop onto it and climb until you reach a hole at the top, allowing Kay to crawl through and drop into Sliro’s courtyard.
Getting inside Sliro’s Mansion
Now we’re past the wall, it’s time to get into the mansion and complete our mansion. As Kay scopes the area, Dennion will cause an explosion, giving us a distraction to get inside. Once you regain control, the game will prompt you to use Nix’s sensor ability to pinpoint nearby enemies. By holding Up on the D-Pad / the B key, you’ll activate a pulse that highlights nearby foes and useful objects. After activating Nix’s abilities, you’ll spot a soldier patrolling the bridge to your right. Sneak down the stairs and take them out silently. It’s worth noting that this area is our first introduction to a stealth game staple: long grass. If you hide in any of the patches of long grass here, you’ll be hidden, allowing you to move around and pursue enemies undetected. Once the soldier on the bridge is down, head into the tall grass just beyond the bridge. Once you’re inside, we’ll notice a soldier watching the area we need to cross through. By holding right on the D-PAD / the T key, you’ll be able to whistle, drawing them to you. Wait for the soldier to approach the long grass, then silently take them down. From here, head up to the front door of the mansion. Its location is indicated by the quest marker. Along the way, take down any of Sliro’s men that get in your way, being sure to use all of the stealth skills available to you, including hiding in long grass, whistling to draw enemies to you and sending in Nix as a distraction. Don’t worry about taking out all the guards. Once you’re through the door, it’ll shut behind you, meaning any additional enemies will no longer be a threat.
Reaching The Vault
Once you’re inside, proceed to the locked door on your right. You can hack it, so use the data spike to make your way through to the other side. Once you’re in, be sure to grab the resources on the coffee table opposite where you enter, then take a left. Kay will note that there’s an energy barrier blocking her route, so we’ll need to find a way to turn it off. Use the Nix Pulse and you’ll be able to see a blue wire leading up past the desk to your right and into the room behind it. Open the door and head inside the room, then look for the power switch opposite where you entered. Turn it off, then return to the now-deactivated energy barrier and continue down the corridor. On your right, you’ll see the room where Sliro killed the other gang leaders in the opening cutscene, so feel free to explore it quickly, then return and push to the end of the corridor. You’ll find a security camera at the end. Being spotted by the camera or shooting it will cause the area to go on high alert, so we want to avoid cameras to the best of our ability. You can see the spot it's currently monitoring by watching the white outline it projects passing along the floor. Wait for the outline to cross to one side of the corridor, then sneak around the opposite side, avoiding its gaze. When you’re past, proceed into the next corridor. Unsealing the ElevatorNow you’re past the camera, look to your right and you’ll see a staircase leading to an elevator with an energy barrier blocking it. It’s under the watchful eyes of two guards, so we’ll need to shut down the energy barrier and take down any enemies patrolling the room. Wait for one of the guards to begin patrolling, then carefully sneak towards the bottom of the staircase and look for a vent on the left wall. Crack it open, hop inside and follow the path up to a locked door. Hack it open with the data spike and you’ll enter a kitchen. On the counter in here, you’ll find some more resources, so grab them. Next, proceed through the hanging beads to your left and into a large lounging area with two guards. On the counter in the kitchen area just past the beads, you’ll find more resources. Being careful not to alert the guards, continue left through another set of hanging beads and loot the counter on the other side for another pile of resources, then focus your attention on the two guards. Take them out silently, and then loot the rest of the room. When you’re done, head to the bar in the back right-hand corner of the lounge area. You’ll see a door to the right of the bar. Head inside to find a switch you can throw. Turn it off to lower the barrier blocking the elevator. That’s our first objective complete. When that's done, head back into the lounge and make your way over to the corridor on the opposite side of the room. Directly ahead of you, you’ll see a locked door. Hack it to enter a bedroom with some credits and jewellery to loot, then make your way back to the corridor. If you look towards the end of the corridor, you’ll see a camera blocking your path. Luckily, we can deactivate it using a button on our left. Turn it off, then proceed to the end of the corridor to return back to the central room with the elevator. We’ll find ourselves on the second-floor balcony, which is being patrolled by one of the two guards we originally saw on the stairs. Lure them in by whistling, then silently take them out. Be careful to avoid walking through the gaze of the camera on this level so we can avoid triggering any alarms. It’s directly next to the elevator. When the first guard’s down, make your way over to the balcony’s railing and aim your blaster at the second guard on the stairs below. Knock them out with a stun blast. With both guards out cold, let’s make our way to the elevator. To avoid the camera, hop over the balcony’s guard rail, drop down, then ascend the stairs to the elevator and head inside. It’s time to make our way up to the vault.
Breaking Into the Vault
Once the elevator’s stopped, you’ll emerge into a corridor with an energy barrier that leads to the vault. You’ll immediately run into a guard here, so take them out, then head through the door next to the elevator. It’ll lead to a long corridor, so follow the corridor down until you see a door on your right. Head inside and grab the resources on the table in the room ahead, then head into the passage at the back of the room, looting a second bundle of resources and some credits inside. When you’ve looted everything, hack the door on the right-hand side of the passage, and proceed through the corridor beyond it and into the room ahead. You’ll find a guard standing in front of a console. Silently dispatch them, then turn your attention to the computer they were watching over. Hacking Mini-GamesIt’s time for our first computer-hacking mini-game. When you first access a computer, press the prompt to slice it and you'll pull up the hacking mini-game. The game itself is very similar to Wordle. You’ll see a row of empty slots on the right-hand side of the screen and a block of symbols on the left. The goal is to test out sequences of symbols. If you enter a symbol and the console highlights it in red, it means it's not in the sequence. If the console highlights it in yellow, it means it is in the sequence, but not in the right spot. If the console highlights it in blue, it means it is in the sequence and is in the correct spot. To complete the sequence, you’ll need to test out symbols, see if they're in the sequence, and then move them around until you have the correct sequence. Much like with our first lockpicking mini-game, feel free to experiment with the hacking mechanic and figure out how it works considering we’re under no pressure from enemies. Once you’ve got the sequence correct, the security will be disabled, allowing Kay to access the vault. Make your way out into the corridor through the door to the right of the computer console, then take a left to reach the vault. Once you’re there, you’ll cue a cutscene. After it's done, the vault door will open, allowing you to make your way inside. After you're through, interact with the control panel directly in front of you. You’ll cue another cutscene, with the treasure inside the vault finally being revealed…
Escaping Sliro’s Mansion
When the cutscene’s done, you’ll immediately regain control in a chase sequence. The element of surprise is well and truly gone, so feel free to shoot any guards that get in your way. Bolt out the vault, being sure to take out the guard that appears to your right as you leave, then make your way back to the elevator. As you do, two more guards will emerge from a door to your left. Shoot them both down, then proceed down the corridor they came from. On your right, you’ll spot a small room with a hatch in the floor. Climb down the hatch and into a ventilation shaft below you. Proceed through it and you’ll eventually emerge in a service tunnel. The fan ahead of you will be spinning too fast to duck under, so shoot the red power node just to the right of it. It’ll power down the fan allowing you to pass through. Go through the fan and you’ll begin sliding down the chute beyond it. Once you reach the bottom, climb into the vent on the right-hand wall, then follow it until you can open a vent hatch above you.
Stealing a Ship
When you emerge, you’ll find yourself in a large hangar looking directly at a ship. Kay will make a split decision, and decide the new plan is to steal the ship and escape Canto. First, though, we have to deal with the guards keeping watch. The easiest way to deal with these guys is to call on the unbridled power of our boy Nix. Dotted around the hangar are an array of explosive barrels; one in pretty much every corner. By commanding Nix, we can make him explode these barrels, allowing us to take down multiple enemies in quick succession. Wait for any nearby enemies to crowd a barrel, and then send Nix over to blow it up. If they’re managing to avoid their fiery fate, remember that Nix can also distract enemies. Simply point him in the near vicinity of a foe and you’ll see the Distract command appear. This will make Nix play dead, forcing them to approach him. As soon as they’re over his incredible performance, use him to unleash fiery justice. Try to take out as many enemies as possible with the barrels, then pick off the stragglers with stealth takedowns or the blaster. When the area’s clear, bolt for the ship. As you get close to the door, a seemingly endless stream of guards will enter the room. Ignore them and continue your sprint to the ship. As you enter, you’ll cue a cutscene, with Kay and Nix powering up the ship. When you regain control, you’ll be in the driver’s seat. The game will quickly teach you the controls with some prompts. Use R2 / RT / Left Mouse Button to fire the ship’s guns and blast through the energy barrier, then hold forward to escape the hanger and clear the mansion. After that, simply enjoy the ride as you make your daring escape and launch straight into a cutscene, ending the mission. After the cutscene, we’ll move straight into our third main quest: Crashed.
