(KOTA) - Central States Fair is one of Rapid City’s biggest annual events, and crews have been working this week to get everything ready for the arrival of fairgoers Friday. Carnival rides are mostly set up, with Ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, slides, mazes, and more littered around the fairground lot.“I’ve been here 28 years,” said Central States Fair General Manager Ron Jeffries. “This is the most excited I’ve been, for the things we have going on at this year’s Central States Fair.”There are multiple new features at the fair this year. Inside the Nerdy Nuts Expo Hall, the AgVenture Experience has revamped its educational activities with 100 chicks running around a small coop. The chicks are only a few days old, but they’re full of energy, and Livestock & Agriculture Education Manager Paige Vander Werff said she’s excited to teach children in attendance about them.See a spelling or grammatical error in our story?
