LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- La Crosse's regional airport is one of four in the state set to receive federal funding.

In a release Monday, Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced that airports in Milwaukee, Green Bay Marathon County, and La Crosse will receive a total of over $6 million.

La Crosse will receive $223,200 to rehabilitate the aircraft rescue and firefighting building, the release said.

The rest of the funding will go to following:

Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport – $2,876,300 to install new lighting to enhance safety and rehabilitate taxiway to extend its useful life.

Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport – $2,068,226 to replace existing snow removal equipment that has reached the end of its useful life.

Central Wisconsin Airport in Marathon County – $862,209 to replace an existing fire-fighting truck to improve safety.

The money comes from annual government funding legislation and the FAA Airport and Airway Trust Fund.
