    Scotia man sentenced for fatal crash

    SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A Scotia man will serve six to 18 years in prison for causing a deadly crash in Schenectady. Gregory Mitchell was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to second degree vehicular manslaughter.

    Prosecutors said Mitchell was driving on Eastern Avenue in October 2023 when he crashed into a parked car, which sparked a fire. The passenger in Mitchell’s car, Jacqueline McCole, 47, of Scotia, was killed.

    Mitchell was also sentenced to three years of probation.
