On August 7 around 4:37 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a crash on Pettis Road. The ensuing investigation determined that Murry was driving a pickup truck heading west when he allegedly swerved to avoid a deer, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, strike a pole, and overturn.

According to deputies, two children, ages 10 and seven, were riding in the truck’s bed at the time of the collision, resulting in them being ejected from the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office says both children were taken to Albany Medical Center, where the 10-year-old was treated for fractures to the arm and collarbone, while the seven-year-old was tended to for non-life-threatening injuries.

    • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child
