Clicking that button leads to two options: one to submit a comment and one to view all comments that have already been received. Comments from residents, business owners, and city boards and commissions are all gathered in the same location for anyone to read.Mayor Stewart stressed that the master plan will determine how the city’s commercial district looks and operates for years ahead, and that there is no fixed deadline for the process. “We will take as long as we need to hear from you and get it right,” she said.Community members are also invited to attend a pair of charrettes — hands-on public working sessions where participants can share ideas, respond to options, and speak directly with the planning team. The sessions are scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13. On November 12, sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On November 13, sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. and run until noon. Most sessions will be held in the Mayor and Commissioners Room at City Hall, with the exception of the 8:00 a.m. Friday session, which will take place at The Dunes.Following the charrettes, the planning firm Dover, Kohl and Partners and city staff will use all public feedback — including submitted comments and input gathered at the sessions — to revise the working draft of the zoning code and develop a draft master plan. The Mayor and Commissioners will then hold additional public meetings open to the entire community.“Together, we can build a plan that welcomes the visitors who sustain us while protecting the charm, quality of life, and character that drew each of us here,” Mayor Stewart wrote.</div></body>
