<body><div>Why are detectives linking Potomac Street and 62nd Street cases?BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Surveillance video obtained by FOX45 shows two suspects entering a Canton pub just before closing time Friday morning, implying they had a gun and demanding money from a bartender while customers were still inside. The robbery at O'Donnell's Pub and Grille was one of three crimes targeting Baltimore businesses within two hours on Nov. 6, including a second robbery that police are investigating for a possible connection.Officers responded to the 500 block of South Potomac Street around 1:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a commercial robbery.Surveillance video shows the suspects walking through the front door of the establishment, which is advertised as closing time is 2 a.m. According to Baltimore police, the suspects reached toward their waistbands, implying they were armed, and demanded money from the bartender. The bartender can be seen opening the cash register as one suspect approaches her. The other suspect slams his hands against the counter while the bartender appears to attempt to calm the situation."Guys, guys, please stop. Everything is fine," the bartender can be heard saying in the surveillance recording.Police said the suspects stole approximately $250 before fleeing. Investigators believe they traveled westbound in a dark-colored sedan.Brian Wortman, who has lived along South Potomac Street since 2019, said the incident was surprising in a neighborhood he considers generally quiet."Really awesome neighborhood, you know, we're right next to the park, it's pretty quiet, great neighborhood," Wortman said, referring to nearby Patterson Park.Wortman said incidents like Friday's robbery are uncommon in his experience."It definitely doesn't happen often. This is kind of a new, new thing for us," he said. "It doesn't make me feel great, you know that someone broke in and kind of like, into our second home, if you will."He also expressed concern about the crime happening so close to home."Not ideal. It never feels good to have something like this happen so close. But I'm glad everyone's safe and I hope it will be safe in the future," Wortman said.At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to another commercial robbery in the 1500 block of 62nd Street.A cashier told police that two suspects entered the business and implied they were armed.According to investigators, the suspects physically grabbed the cashier, forced him toward the cash registers and ordered him to open them. The cashier complied, and the suspects stole approximately $240 before fleeing westbound in a dark-colored Hyundai sedan.Detectives are examining similarities between the two robberies, including the number of suspects, implied weapons and getaway vehicle descriptions, to determine whether they are connected.Fourteen minutes later, at approximately 3:44 a.m., officers responded to a commercial burglary in the 4000 block of Eastern Avenue.Police said an off-site security monitoring company contacted authorities after detecting a suspect forcing entry into the business.Investigators said the suspect used unidentified tools to pry open a sliding glass door and lift a metal security gate. The suspect removed money from the cash register and may have stolen additional merchandise before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction, according to police.Dispatch audio obtained through Broadcastify referenced a Walgreens at 4020 Eastern Avenue and described a person wearing a black hoodie and black shoes and carrying a black umbrella.Police have not indicated that the Eastern Avenue burglary is connected to the earlier robberies. All three investigations remain active and ongoing. No arrests have been announced.</div></body>
