This is the motto that the Claremont High School Boys Football team has been living by this season. However, from independent media sources to established sports outlets like Fox Sports, people have been dogging on the pack. Nonetheless, even with everyone against them, the Wolfpack has risen to a dominant position in the CIF Southern Section rankings. Last season, Claremont started out with a six game win streak and finished third in league competition. This season was not out to the same start however, with the pack taking the loss in the season opener, and a losing streak on the road. The reaction was significant. Outlets had Claremont down and even missing the playoffs to teams like Chino. However, as we know now, Claremont eventually triumphed over them, beating Chino 28-25.In some ways, these outlets can not be faulted for looking down on Claremont. Before last season, they had not made the playoffs since 2022. Even last year, they were the bottom seed and got bounced in the first round by Palm Springs. However, the Wolfpack seems to be doing better than ever. That mentality comes directly from the team. Senior Lineman George Papadatos commented on the team’s spirit this year.“This season we have an underdog mentality,” Papadatos said. “We want to not act cocky. We’re playing against a few good teams, and we want to keep that underdog mentality so we can do our best to beat them.”On Claremont’s “underrated” status, he had this to say.“What’s actually crazy is San Dimas scheduled us for their homecoming game,” Papadatos said. “What that usually means is they think we’re a really easy team to beat. People are really underestimating us for who we are. We’re all a family, and everybody on varsity is trying really hard.”Claremont secured their spot in the postseason in an amazing win over Los Osos in the final home game of the regular season, winning 38-10. Even after 2 rough games away towards the end of the regular season, Claremont faces off against 5-5 at-large Moreno Valley in the Division 9 CIF Southern Section playoffs. No matter what, it is clear the pack has given a lot this season. </div></body>
