Members worked together to make a budget for the care of the turkeys and helped plan the upcoming dinner.“We will use four of the turkeys for the dinner but still have some for purchase or businesses to sponsor for families in need,” Slater said. They are planning the dinner for 100 people and do not require reservations. A variety of meats, side dishes and pies will be served.“People are encouraged to bring something to share if they want,” Slater said. “It will be first come, first serve, and if we have extra, you can get another plate.”She hopes this becomes an annual event.“We want to build our program and have the teens and adults take more leadership on,” Slater said. “I want them to be able to see they did something nice for the community. They raised these birds and used them to bring people together.”</div></body>
