This construction is part of a project to connect Jay Street to Nott Street, which would connect Downtown Schenectady to the Mohawk Harbor area, accessible for motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.The project began over the summer, and was in full swing this fall. The new road cuts through land in front of the CPH field and the car wash across the street, converging with Nott Street at the intersection near the CPH dorms. Construction has prompted many detours in the area, including through Seward Place, South Avenue and Jay Street. Sidewalks have also been closed periodically onNott Street.Recently, an email was sent to the Union community with an update on access to the CPH parking lots, explaining that after October 26, the lots would only be accessible through the new Jay Street extension from Union Street. This closure is part of Phase 2 of the project, allowing for construction continuing the extension to Nott Street.Included in the email was a reminder to students, staff and faculty that Union offers free shuttles to transport to the M&amp;T Bank Center for hockey games as an alternative to walking through the construction.</div></body>
