<body><div>Give by November 15 and see your name in our December edition.Pick up any edition of the Chronicle and you will find your neighbors in it. A retired postmaster remembering Fulks Run. A homemaker sharing a recipe that has fed her family for years. A student finding their voice. A shop owner on Main Street. A history piece about a family that has worked the same land for generations. And the word search, which plenty of you tell us is the first page you turn to.None of the people on these pages are professional journalists. They are volunteers who love Broadway, Timberville and northern Rockingham County and want their stories told. That is what makes the Chronicle different from anything else you will read. The writing is given freely. The printing is not. It costs about $2,800 every month to put 2,000 copies at 30 pickup spots and in mailboxes from Broadway to Bergton. Our advertisers help a great deal, and we are grateful for every one of them, but it is not enough on its own.Without more support from readers and local businesses, the Chronicle will stop printing. So we are asking readers to pitch in. $35 a year, less than $3 a month, covers about 25 copies. If you can give more, it goes a long way. If you can only give a little, that helps too.Everyone who gives by November 15 will be listed on the Friends of the Chronicle roll in our December edition. List your own name, honor or remember someone you love, pick a pen name, or give quietly with no name at all. If you like, we will keep your listing on our website all year.Mail your check to CRC, P.O.
