SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - It’s been another cloudy, dreary day around Mid-Michigan and it appears we’ll do the same to wrap up the week. Showers are once again expected on Friday, but conditions do seem to get brighter as we move toward the weekend. Although we expect rain most of the time, it’s not out of the question that some of our first snowflakes could mix in at times late Thursday night and early Friday, and late Friday night. This won’t be significant or happen everywhere, but there’s a chance! For a complete look at your forecast, be sure to check out your TV5 First Alert 7-Day Forecast! This Evening & OvernightShowers will remain possible through tonight, though it won’t be raining the entire time. A second cold front will move through the area tonight leading to those showers, while also cooling our temperatures down even further heading into Friday. We may see a brief pause later tonight once the front passes by, but more showers will develop overnight through Friday, so it’s possible some areas could see rain during the early morning drives and at select bus stops.

Lows tonight will be in the 30s and 40s. (WNEM)

The bigger story will be temperatures dropping back into the 30s and 40s for overnight lows. Winds would be northwesterly around 5 to 15 miles per hour. With showers remaining possible while temperatures drop, it’s possible our northern areas especially could see some of their first flakes of the season try to mix in late tonight and early Friday morning.

What the radar could look like at 6 AM Friday. (WNEM)

As mentioned above, this is not something that is guaranteed in our area (it may end up being to our north), but we can’t rule it out at this point. Accumulations, if any, would be minor. This would be predicated on snow coming down hard enough, and would be on grassy or cold, elevated surfaces. Friday

What the radar could look like at 12 PM Friday. (WNEM)

More showers, primarily rain, are expected through the day Friday, including showers that could linger through the evening hours for Friday night plans and high school football. If you plan on being outdoors at one of those games, plan for the cold at the very least, and the farther east you are, the chance for rain.

What the radar could look like at 6 PM Friday. (WNEM)

These showers should mostly be on the lighter side, but occasional pockets will come down at a more moderate rate. Highs are expected to be in the 40s for most, and low 50s for our warmest spots. This should keep showers during the day in liquid form once temperatures warm up.

Highs will be much cooler on Friday. (WNEM)

Winds will be northwestery inland, though there may be a more northeasterly component near the lakeshore. Winds will be around 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts near 25 miles per hour. For evening plans, actual temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s, with wind chills solidly in the 30s. The same caveats listed above for Thursday night apply to Friday night as things cool off. Some flakes may try to mix in, but low impact would be expected. Temperatures going into Saturday would be quite chilly in the 20s and 30s. Weekend Outlook Outside of a lingering shower on Saturday morning brushing the shoreline areas near Lake Huron, we should be dry this weekend. Clouds may be a bit stubborn to leave early in the day, but we do expect a decreasing cloud trend through the day. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 40s to low 50s, with northwest winds around 5 to 15 miles per hour. Sunday should have more sunshine through the day and temperatures should be able to respond. We expect highs to wrap up the weekend to be in the middle to upper 50s. Winds will be breezier on Sunday, with westerly winds around 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts near 25 to 30 miles per hour.
