<div>The preliminary and final plat for a new multi-family housing project was approved by the Sartell City Council at its Sept. 14 meeting.The “Third Rapids” project, as it’s dubbed, will involve the development of two lots situated on an 88-acre parcel of land in the area of Pinecone Road S. and 15th Street S.On one of the lots will be constructed a 48-unit apartment building, and the other lot will be developed after that project is completed. Lot 1 is 4.06 acres and Lot 2 is 3.10 acres. Outlot A consists of 47.69 acres, and Outlot B is 24.46 acres.The applicant for the Third Rapids development was submitted to the city by Megan Carr of Sand Cos. on behalf of the Sartell Housing Group LLC.In discussing the proposal, the council expressed concerns about safety in that very busy area of the city. The council seemed to arrive at an informal consensus that a wide walking trail would be added to the area.More information about Third Rapids will be reported as it becomes available.</div>
