Jurors saw a flyer for the July 2019 Unruly Citizens festival, where both artists were booked. Barnes said officers added security, arrested MO3 on outstanding warrants before he entered and later collected the online responses.

According to FOX 4’s live courtroom report, prosecutors used Barnes to build a timeline stretching back to 2017. Jurors also watched an August 2019 interview in which Yella Beezy discussed surviving a shooting and said street conflict was “two for two.”

He said he did not start problems but finished them when targeted.

The interview was admitted over defense objections. Prosecutors said the material supplied context and mindset for the tension they allege eventually led to MO3’s November 2020 killing. Yella Beezy, whose legal name is Markies Conway, has pleaded not guilty and denied ordering the attack.

Barnes’s testimony followed a day in which the defense challenged Cedric Bradley, a federal inmate who told jurors that White had confessed to him.

Lawyers pressed Bradley about his criminal exposure and an earlier meeting where he denied knowing anything about the homicide. A financial analyst also reviewed Conway’s 2020 bank activity, including two $40,000 withdrawals. The defense argued those transactions fit the spending of a successful entertainer.

The testimony adds a new layer to a case that has already moved through separate trials. White was convicted of capital murder in September and sentenced to life in prison. Brown is separately charged with capital murder.

Barnes also described phone records and surveillance gathered during the investigation, including evidence that a black coupe waited near MO3’s location before the highway shooting. That 18-hour stakeout was aired during White’s September trial and is not new. Thursday’s development was its presentation to Conway’s jury alongside Conway’s own recorded words.

Prosecutors continued playing videos and walking jurors through the history they say explains the killing.

The defense will get its chance to test Barnes’s conclusions and the links investigators drew between music, public arguments and the physical evidence.
