The MC3 Summit continues in 2026 as YSB’s largest annual event for youth advocacy, cross-sector engagement and community collaboration. The concept that ‘what surrounds us, shapes us’ has guided the MC3 Summit since its inception. Children and youth are shaped by their interpersonal relationships, neighborhoods where they live, learn and play, and the policies of organizations and institutions that they interact with. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed a framework called Essentials for Childhood that was intended for use by communities committed to the positive development of children and families. This framework shows that when children have access to safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments (SSNREs) they are more likely to thrive - and thriving children are more likely to grow into thriving adults. Childhood conditions are community conditions, and in a time when Indiana leads the nation in percent decline of children on Medicaid, school corporations (and other public services) are experiencing funding cuts related to SEA 1, and the cost to make ends meet outpaces the average income, we must understand these challenges to advocate for our community, in order to shape what surrounds us as we build towards a world where conditions make it EASIER for youth and families to thrive. This November, you can be a part of the conversation among the youth workers, decision makers, social service &amp; healthcare providers, parents, youth, educators, business leaders, and community members who are attending the MC3 Summit at the Bloomington Convention Center in Bloomington, Indiana. This one-day event will feature expert sessions, collaborative workshops, and networking opportunities to support building cross-sector relationships and spark ideas to strengthen our community. The cost of entry is $25 per ticket which includes light breakfast and lunch. Organizers do not want cost to be a barrier for participation; email btccbloomington@gmail.com for a scholarship code to register if needed.
