Neither team scored in the second half, and Pass High completed its perfect regular season, building momentum heading into the Class 4A playoffs.Senior quarterback Paris Trivillion continued his impressive season, completing 8 of 9 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He also rushed for a touchdown as the Pirates rolled up 387 total yards.Junior receiver Brandon Laneaux caught five passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while Mario Burks added three receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown. Burks also returned an interception 55 yards for a score, finishing with two touchdowns. The Pirates have had multi-touchdown victories in five of their last six games. In fact, they have not been fully tested since a two-point win over Presbyterian Christian on Sept. 11“That’s the exact message I gave to the team after the game — we’ve been playing to extend the lead and not playing to win the game,” Head Coach Jeff Stockstill said. “I don’t know if we are a really good team or if the schedule was too soft. The team took care of the business at hand, but the competition is going to get a lot better very quickly. The sense of urgency at practice and the level of focus have to match up with that moving forward.”The Pirates’ defense delivered a dominant performance of its own, forcing four turnovers and scoring three touchdowns.

Sophomore Konner Burks recovered two fumbles and returned both for touchdowns, accounting for 97 return yards. Laneaux added an interception, while Kaiden Mooney forced a fumble.Senior Stefen King Jr. led the defense with 13 tackles, including six solo stops. Sophomore Evan Williams recorded 10 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, while Cecil Lizana and Mooney each finished with eight tackles.Pass High also found success on the ground. Senior Douglas White rushed seven times for 72 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Braylen Acker added 61 yards on 10 carries. Trivillion contributed seven rushing yards and a touchdown. The Pirates averaged 7.1 yards per rushing attempt and 30.6 yards per completed pass. Bay High managed just 164 yards of total offense, including 52 rushing yards on 21 attempts. Freshman quarterback Benton Ladner completed 14 of 22 passes for 112 yards but was intercepted twice. Ladner scored the Tigers’ only touchdown.Junior Kilanta Burt led Bay High with 44 rushing yards and caught nine passes for 60 yards. The victory added another chapter to one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s longest-running football rivalries. The teams met for the 73rd time, with Bay High holding a 41-30-2 advantage in the all-time series entering the contest. The Pirates have now won eight of the last 11 meetings.More importantly, the victory puts Pass High among the few teams in program history to complete an undefeated regular season. The Pirates (10-0, 4-0) will open the Class 4A playoffs at home Friday, Nov. 6, against Forest (5-4, 1-3).“Business as usual will not cut it this week,” Stockstill said. “We have to step up our game at practice.”(Photos by Hunter Dawkins/The Gazebo Gazette via Associated Press)
