Corduroy’s disappearance had broken the heart of his best friend; a little girl who always spent every moment she could with the dog who had been a puppy at that time.So let’s fast forward seven years when earlier this month, Corduroy arrived as a stray at the North Central Center. Because he had a microchip, the shelter staff were able to contact his family. They were in shock Corduroy had been found. The family made the trip from San Diego to Los Angeles to reunite with their dog, and the reunion was filled with happy tears, smiles and lots of scratches. The shelter staff and Corduroy’s family shared before-and-after photos of a young girl posing with the dog, and then the pair together again seven years later. No one knows what happened to Corduroy all this time, but it’s the happy reunion we all get to share.Corduroy was able to be reunited with his family because of his microchip. The cost is generally only $15, and in many shelters and reputable rescues, all pets are microchipped before being offered for adoption.Follow the National Pet Rescue on Facebook for the latest animal related news.</div></body>
