It remains quiet through the day.

Week of Sept. 7 (KCTV)

Evening plans look fantastic. For all local football, kickoff temperatures should be near 80 degrees. Kickoff in Lawrence for the Border War looks to be around 82 degrees. We will fall through the 70s as the sun sets, hanging out in the lower 70s when you are heading home. SATURDAY: We continue to get a better picture for Saturday’s rain and storm chances. It looks like we have two potential rounds. The early morning chance is lower, about 40%. This could be a few spotty showers or quick thunderstorms. Timing 4-10 a.m., but a few of these could be closer to the KC metro. The Old Settlers Day Parade is something we are watching closely. There is a chance that a downpour could near the parade route. Activity is very spotty early, so best case scenario these stay away from Olathe and the parade can stay dry.

Week of Sept. 7 (KCTV)

Another thunderstorm chance looks better carrying into the later part of the evening. There is a level 1/5 risk for a strong to severe storm. SUNDAY: Rain/storm chances Sunday are also present, but we are still sorting out that data.

Week of Sept. 7 (KCTV)

Right now, early morning and late evening again have some higher signals from our computer modeling. We will see mid-80s again on Sunday. NEXT WEEK: Monday is your hottest day, but I did take rain chances off completely. We have lower 90s in the afternoon with gusty conditions. Heading to Arrowhead? It will be quite the warm season opener, but will turn a bit more pleasant as the sun continues to set. So, tailgating temperatures leading up to kickoff will be the hottest. Then a nice cold front works in Tuesday, resetting temperatures back to the upper 70s and lower 80s for most of next week.
