If that swing from one extreme to the other has you feeling dizzy, the weekend thankfully offers some relief. The continuous roll of thunderstorms seen on Friday will not be matched on Saturday, but a few cells are still likely to pop up. Watch Siskiyou, Modoc and Lassen Counties as the most likely areas to see a few storm cells in the afternoon. As with Thursday and Friday, we could see dry lightning lead to new fire starts, so be sure to report any smoke you see. Outside of the mountains, skies look generally clear and temperatures are back on the rise. Expect upper 80s to low 90s in the valley, with similar temperatures in Trinity County and upper 70s to low 80s elsewhere in the mountains. Sunday should offer a pretty pleasant Father's Day for all the dads, grandpas and uncles across the Northstate! We'll see calm conditions back in control, and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures are on the rise though, with upper 90s expected in the valley and mid 80s to mid 90s on tap in the high country. This warm, sunny setup is quite fitting -- Sunday also marks the official start of summer, with the Summer Solstice occurring at 1:24 a.m. Skies look to stay calm and clear into the new week, and we'll generally level off our temperatures just a smidge higher than they are on Father's Day. Expect places like Redding to sit right around the century mark until at least Thursday, while most of the valley sees upper 90s. The only real change suggested by the end of the week is a possible slight cooldown, so it seems that Mother Nature has gotten over her crazy phase -- at least for the time being! For the latest information on changing weather conditions across the region, tune into our live broadcasts this weekend, and download the free KRCR Weather app from your device's app store.
