Increased fire danger expected by midweek

2026-06-02Chief Meteorologist Avaionia Smith: June 2, 2026 — Happy Tuesday! The trend of warmer weather continues, and sunny skies will be the view. Wednesday a cold front will cross bringing gusty winds up to 40mph and sparking a Red Flag Warning that will go into effect at 3pm-9pm Wednesday. Be sure to avoid outdoor brining dry and windy conditions can aid in spreading fires quickly. Highs are in the mid to upper 80s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures drop slightly for Thursday in the upper 70s, but we hang onto the sunshine and rain free weather across the valley floors. Stay safe and have a terrific Tuesday.
