But after years of dinner service, the decision has been made to launch its new lunchtime menu. At a time when the downtown restaurant landscape has shifted, and continues to shift, The Banshee operator, Conor Hawkins, has opted to come out swinging. This, my friends, is good news on many fronts. First, having a full fledge Irish pub for lunch downtown means that hungry patrons now have access to a all sorts of delicious pub fare, at their beck and call. With mains that include an Irish Spice Box (traditionally served ups as crispy fries, shredded/fried chicken, sliced onions, and green/red peppers, all tossed in a special seasoning), and one of my all-time favorites, bangers and mash, this menu is loaded with satiating mid-day menu options.Second, you just can’t beat the authentic Irish atmosphere at The Banshee – old world, with cozy seating arrangements, fireplaces, Irish music, and lunchtime bar service by Paul McMenamin, who is relatively new to Buffalo. Paul grew up in Ireland, before moving to Boston, where he met a Buffalo gal, and the rest is history. Paul is eager to build up the weekday lunch crowd, and yesterday, my friend and I were happy to help him out. Lunch is currently being served Monday through Friday, from 11:30am to 2pm.Do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite and/or a beer, to watch a soccer match, listen to some live music, and meet the friendly staff that is happy to open the doors for downtown office workers, and anyone else that wants to pay a visit to one of the most gorgeous pubs in the region. The Banshee Irish Pub | 257 Franklin Street Buffalo, NY 14202 | (716) 783-9003 | Facebook | Lunch and dinnerUpcoming entertainment schedule (see website for full lineup):Fri Mar 6th – Gerry DixonFri Mar 7th – HarpersonFri Mar 13th – Three Parts WhiskeySat Mar 14th – Dreams of Freedom 7:30pm (see below for more info and tickets)Sun Mar 15th – TBDMon Mar 16th – TBDTue Mar 17th – Terry Savastano 11:30amTue March 17th – Scripps Acoustic Trio – 6pmTue March 17th – TBD 9pmFri Mar 20th – Captain Tom &amp; the Hooligans – 8pmSat Mar 21st – Evan Laedke and FriendsFri Mar 27th – Terry SavastanoSat Mar 28th – Akloh 8pmUnless otherwise stated in the schedule:Friday Music is from 7pm – 10pmSaturday Music is from 8pm – 11pmSunday Music is from 3pm – 6pm</div></body>
