Gusty Wind & Falling Temperatures Today
By Todd Simcox,
2025-12-30BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Lingering light snow and snow showers across northern and eastern Aroostook County will continue to wind down this afternoon. The gusty westerly wind will continue to gust to 30-40 MPH through late afternoon then diminish a bit this evening. Temperatures will continue to fall to the mid-single numbers to low teens across the north and mid to upper teens elsewhere by mid-afternoon. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a few breaks of sun possible from time to time. We’ll see partly to mostly skies for the overnight tonight. It’ll be a frigid night with low temperatures near 0° north and single numbers to near 10° closer to the coast. Winds will diminish a bit but still be gusty with gusts to 25 MPH possible. This will result in wind chills between -5° to -15° at times for much of the state. Wind chills could be as low as –20° to -25° across northern locales.
