They voted to rezone a one-acre commercial parcel along Lower Huntington and Winchester Roads to make way for the more than 60-unit development. Homes are expected to range from 250 to 700 square feet and cost $50,000 to $125,000.Project designer William Etzler said demand for affordable housing remains high, noting that traditional options often exceed what lower-income families can afford.“There has always been a demand… Habitat for Humanity has tried to fill that niche over the years,” Etzler said. “The houses that they build are 1200 square feet and up, and the average entry price is $200,000 to $225,000. Our goal is for these homes to be in the $50,000 to $125,000 price range.”Developers expect to break ground by mid-summer, once all local agency approvals are secured.</div></body>
