This Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) was created to find the barriers that prevent citizens from achieving good health. It will also allow ATCPHD to explore access to health resources and find the root causes that contribute to poor health in Abilene and Taylor County. “Our goal is to make sure every voice in our community is heard, especially those who often face the greatest health challenges,” said Annette Lerma, Director of Public Health. “By understanding the community’s needs, priorities, and sources of trusted health information, we can better focus our resources and partnerships towards our mission of helping people live healthier lives.”Abilene City Manager Emily Crawford said she sees value in a healthy community and believes this assessment is a vital step to achieving that. “The health of our community impacts every aspect of life in Abilene, from our schools and workplaces to our economy and neighborhoods,” Crawford said. “We encourage all residents to take part in this effort. Your input helps inform how we, as a city, can best support the well-being of our neighbors and fellow Abilenians.”The ATCPHD said it will use the information gathered in the assessment to "guide future public health programs, partnerships, and potential funding priorities aimed at addressing the most pressing health issues in the community."The assessment will stay open for 60 days, and you can find it online through the ATCPHD website. </div></body>
