(WDAM) - The town of Taylorsville is getting an upgrade on a busy roadway. According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, over $5 million is being spent to improve the intersection at Mississippi 37 and Mississippi 28. Taylorsville Police Department Chief Gabe Horn said the intersection sees a lot of traffic problems. “The intersection was called a four-way, but you could have said it was a six-way, and it was very confusing for people not familiar with our town,” Horn said. Horn said the finished project will not only make the town look better but also should be easier for both residents and visitors to navigate. “It’s going to look a lot better,” Horn said. “I think it’s going to benefit the public because it’s going to help traffic flow better, especially for the people passing through.” The project is ongoing, which is why Horn is advising everyone to take caution when going through that part of town. “We just kind of need people to bear with us because we still have construction workers working out there, and watch their speed when they go through there,” Horn told WDAM 7. According to MDOT, the project should be finished by the end of this year. Want more WDAM 7 news in your inbox? Click here to subscribe to our newsletter.</div></body>
