On Saturday, the Freedom Foundation launched the "Teacher Freedom Alliance" (TFA). Walter's office described TFA as a way to provide teachers liability coverage and professional development opportunities as well as promote a "historically accurate curriculum.""Teachers deserve the ability to be rewarded for being great," said Walters. "They will no longer be harassed into joining an organization that is laser-focused on breaking up the moral fiber of America. We've been clear that we're not going to tolerate distractions to education like CRT, DEI, gender ideology, and antisemitism in our classrooms." In the same press release, Walters said the Teachers' Unions have been against private industry, free market solutions, historically. This isn't the first time Walters has expressed criticism of the Teachers' Unions. In May 2023, State Supt. Walters called state teachers' unions a "terrorist organization."FOX23 reported that Walters said he doesn't "negotiate with the Teachers' Unions. They're a terrorist organization." According to Walters, Teachers' Unions "spread misinformation across the state." These comments came after he went before state lawmakers during a committee meeting in 2023 to answer questions. He also said in that meeting that his campaign will keep indoctrination and Critical Race Theory (CRT) out of schools."There's new leadership in the White House and we're going to make education great again with the help of the Freedom Foundation and Secretary McMahon," said Walters in a press release.
