Because they didn’t have a license to sell. A license to sell inside the City limits of Oilton. Once they left the City limits they no longer posed a threat. They were no longer breaking a law, and chances are they would have just asked them to leave anyway. How was he cross deputized? Did Creek County give Oilton permission for them to chase after people selling without a license outside the City limits???? That’s really very petty. Once these peddlers were outside the City limits and on this man’s property, maybe he wanted to buy something from them! I hope this man wins his lawsuit for being taken to the ground. If that officer couldn’t get a 76 year old man in cuffs without throwing him to the ground then he has his own set of problems. IMO
