Spokane County Sheriff's Office, SWAT take shooting suspect into custody

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. -- SWAT and the Spokane County Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting in Medical Lake, Sunday.

Officers responded to N. Olson Hill Court near Tara Lee Avenue north of Highway 902. The sheriff's office said they were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. to a home for reports of an armed, possibly suicidal man.

Police say the man barricaded himself alone inside the home. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says multiple shots were fired. SWAT made call outs to the man inside the home telling him to surrender safely and not hurt anyone.

Neighbors in the areas were told to shelter inside or safely evacuate.

People were allowed back in their homes and SWAT left the scene around 10 p.m.

Law enforcement took one man safely into custody.

No injuries were reported.
