Team USA has claimed another gold medal, but it wasn't pretty. Their gold medal game against France was brutal to watch from an offensive standpoint. The US struggled mightily on offense, missing easy shots and committing careless turnovers.

Naturally, discourse about the game gravitated toward the omission of Caitlin Clark from the lineup. The Indiana Fever rookie was left off Team USA's Olympic roster despite a stellar rookie season. Now, fans are wondering how the US would've fared with Clark on the roster.

"Chelsea Gray and Diana Taurasi over Caitlin Clark is a joke," @jbart405 said. "And you can’t convince me that this team couldn’t have used Angel Reese’s rebounding."

At one point, Team USA found themselves down by ten points against France. The continued struggles of the offense at that point led to more reactions from fans.

It was a frustrating watch for some fans, seeing the struggles of Team USA against their opponent.

Turnovers and sloppy execution gave Team USA an unwarranted handicap against France. Credit goes to the French defense for making A'ja Wilson's life hell, but there were also multiple careless mistakes by the entire US squad.

Would Clark have made this team better? Possibly. Team USA's guard play in the Olympics was less than ideal. When France keyed in on their bigs, they struggled.

Clark, theoretically, would be the guard they need to stabilize the offense and run it properly. She's averaging 17.1 points and 8.2 assists in her rookie season. However, the Fever star also struggles with turnovers (5.6 per game), so she could've added more trouble in that regard.

A win is a win, and Team USA secures its eighth women's basketball gold medal. Clark and the rest of the WNBA's young stars will likely get a chance to prove themselves at home when the 2028 LA Olympics rolls around.

The Coach and/ or selection committee were lucky the other Olympic teams are still way behind America in talent, but I sure hope the realize their mistake not including the WNBA’s assumed rookie-of-the-year
